Royal Oak High School Arbor Project
Some Important Facts:
The ROHS property was devastated by the Emerald Ash Borer, losing more than 135 ash trees in the past four years. With the new, reconstructed high school, we are endeavoring to build the grounds of ROHS into a beautiful and welcome locale. With community support, we intend to plant at least 125 trees in the next five years, as well as modestly landscape areas closest to the building. Working with local landscapers Travis Beard and Jeff Birkett, we have identified 25 different species of trees to plant and this diversity will help to avoid pests like the Emerald Ash Borer. These varied trees will be fairly large (2-3 inch caliper) to increase viability.
Our Vision
“To cultivate the Royal Oak High School property and beautify the grounds, making it a site the entire community can enjoy.”
How Can You Help?
We are asking prospective donors, business and individuals alike, to consider donating $300 for one tree. This will cover the cost of purchase, delivery and planting plus one year of maintenance. Of course, we welcome any and all sizes of donations and we have already received many small contributions. Every little bit helps. Please use the form below. Thank you for your support.
