Please support our wonderful Royal Oak High School Band and Orchestra and the students who give so much of their time and energy to be their best by attending the following:
Royal Oak will host a State Jazz Festival on April 17. The band will perform that day. We've done this before. I'll need kids all day, and lots of parent help. Last year I simply assigned parents. Many responded favorably, and it made the process MUCH easier. I'm likely to do the same again.

Scholarship audition results for Blue Lake are starting to come in, and many are planning to attend. This camp gets my highest recommendation. If you plan to go, please get signed up and send the deposit asap. You can pay the deposit now and adjust the final balance after your scholarship results are final. The camp takes students on a first come, first served basis. (It seems every year we have a few who would like to go, but aren't able because they wait too long to sign up.)
====================
This freezing weather is very bad for our instruments. Please take the following precautions:
- Don't leave instruments in cars for extended periods of time.
- Orchestra students NEED humidifiers in their cases.
- If your instrument does get extremely cold, let it gradually return
to room temperature before playing.
==================== Thanks,
David Jensen Royal Oak High School Bands & Orchestras MSBOA Vice President Jazz Activities
