ALL NIGHT PARTY 2010 COMMITTEES

ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT: If you love partying with hundreds of teenagers, you’ll love working on this committee. Members are responsible for planning, setting up, and running the games that will amuse, challenge, and beguile the seniors. Due to the change in venue, this committee will only need be responsible for board and card games and handling the music contest.

CLEANUP:

DECORATIONS: Again, the change in venue is going to bring some changes. This committee will be responsible for decorating at Joe Dumar's Field house where it is appropriate, primarily the food and game areas. As we have an abundance of decorations from previous years, the decorating committee will be primarily “shopping” for decorations in the PTSA storage area. Who knows what hidden treasures you'll find!

FUNDRAISING: If you have a lot of business contacts and are skilled in the fine art of persuasion, this is the place for you. This committee has a very demanding and critical job to perform. The assignment is to provide items and money, through donations from parents, business establishments, and community associations that will cover the cost of the celebration. This committee also coordinates the major fund-raisers throughout the year, such as the Lottery.

PRIZES: If you never have a problem figuring out what type of presents to buy your friends and relatives, you will definitely want to join this committee. Money from fund raising and gifts from local businesses will be used to create an almost endless flow of prizes that will be given out during the celebration. These prizes will vary from simple door prizes to major gifts.

PUBLICITY: If you have a way with words and a knack for getting people’s attention, you will be very happy working on this committee. The job is to create enthusiasm for the celebration among students, parents, school administrators, faculty and the community at large. This is done through announcements in the school paper, the PTSA newsletter, articles for the local newspapers, contact with the radio stations, and any other medium they can come up with.

REFRESHMENTS: If you love serving food to hungry people, this is the place for you. This committee provides simple food and beverages that appeal to the graduates. You will be working with Joe Dumar's catering department. No cooking or clean-up!

REGISTRATION/SIGN-OUT: This committee is the party gatekeepers. This group is responsible for student entry and exit from the event and securing name lanyards for the seniors. If a senior that was expected at the party does not appear by midnight, this committee will contact parents.

SECURITY: If you are not easily intimidated, and do not mind working a few hours between 11PM - 6AM, sign up for this committee. Help provide a safe, drug and alcohol free atmosphere during the celebration. This committee will be working on signing people on and off the buses. Celebration security also includes parents who will serve as chaperones throughout the night.

SCHOOL SPIRIT: Do you proudly wear the logo of your alma mater? Then, this is the committee for you. This group contacts the admissions offices at colleges and universities across the country soliciting donations of Spirit wear. T-shirts and sweatshirts are collected to give to the party goers as raffle prizes.

TICKETS: If you are an ingenious person, the ticket committee wants you. This committee is present at various school events to promote ticket sales. Tickets can be a very clever publicity stunt used as the final lure to get students to the celebration.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR(s): Someone needs to keep track of who has volunteered, what positions need to be filled, and where each will actually serve. There will be many times when committees will request help for which the volunteer coordinator will need to recruit help. Some people will volunteer to help “anywhere they are needed,” so it is important the volunteer coordinator know all of the celebration plans and be able to match the right volunteer to the right task.
