These are a list of the clubs that have been at the high schools in previous years. Many are slated to continue but this is a tentative list and we suggest your student pay close attention at school to any announcements or fliers or posters to find out the most recent information. (updated 11/10)

Achievement Letter – Jennifer Kendall

Have you been involved in school-sponsored clubs? Have you volunteered your time to the Royal Oak community? If you have, you may be eligible to receive a Royal Oak High School Achievement Letter. See Ms. Kendall in room 215 for details or extra forms.

Anime - Mrs. Karlann Orth room 301

Art Club – Martha Shrode - Meets weekly after school in the art room.  It is open to all students whether they are enrolled in art classes or not.  Students work on projects of their own choice or sometimes on a group project.

Be The Change Club - Carrie Laurence - Come help create a more positive school environment. ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME!

Bowling Club - Neal Drilich & Matt Milazzo - The club meets on Thursdays after school January through March.  The program culminates in a two-week tournament competing against teams from other MSAA schools.  The club is open to girls and boys.

Boy's Forestry Club – Ryan Piippo, Dave Barnett - Creates and maintains greater interest in forestry and conservation.  This club is open to junior and senior boys.  The club sponsors for its members many outdoor activities, including camping, skiing, and canoeing.  In addition, the members attend area sports events as a group throughout the year.

Business Professionals of America (BPA) - Nada Northey  - The purpose of BPA is to prepare students for the business world. BPA builds leadership, professionalism, poise, dependability, patriotism, and competency through many business related activities.

The Culinary Cooking Club - Marj Brown, Club Sponsor,  Meets in room 151 from 3:00pm to 4:30ish Club President:  Meghan McCarthy and Steve Kwarsick.

Disc Golf Club - Sean Morgan, Coach, Meets most Wednesdays in room 214.

Drama Club - Ms Brewer-Rollins - Membership is open to any student interested in acting, music and dance, or behind-the-scenes production such as costumes, scenery and lighting. Everyone gets a job backstage or onstage.

Game Club - Mr. Morgan, meets every Tuesday after school in room 214.

Gathering Club - If you're into magic and card games, the GATHERING CLUB invites you to join them each Wednesday @ 3:00 to play, trade, and learn about the game and it's history.  Meetings are FREE, but there is a minimal fee for refreshments, play mats and tournament prizes. If you have any questions, please contact one of the following Club Officers; Darrell Souza, Nick Pitchford, Shamus Carey, Steve Kwarsick, John Bradford or Club President, Josh McGrath.

Gay/Straight Alliance - Perry Cicchini

Interact - Steve Chisnell - InterAct of Royal Oak is the ROHS youth Rotary organization that meets every Wednesday after school in room 105.  It has an open membership of students who are interested in volunteerism in the local, national, and international community.  Students work on high school beautification and environmental projects, UNICEF drives and microloans to developing countries, and host an annual disaster relief week in various parts of the US (New Orleans, Galveston, etc.)

International Club – Jo Fetsco - International Club is open to all students. It meets once a month after school. Activities include eating at ethnic restaurants, and service projects such as canned food drives. Meeting days and times vary. Watch and listen for announcements.

Knit-Crochet Club – Peggy Barker

Royal Oak Model United Nations – Steve Chisnell room 105 - Royal Oak's Model United Nations ambassadors meet throughout the school year for activities promoting awareness of world social and political issues.  They adopt world causes to promote at Royal Oak and compete at state, national, and international levels in United Nations simulations.  The organization is similar to Debate with students researching and arguing for a particular nation's position.  Meetings are at least once per month during the year, but smaller delegations meet more often as competition draws near, usually in the spring.

Music Recording Club (MRC) – Sean Morgan club sponsor - This club is for those who like to make music. In M.R.C.... you will take trips to real recording studios like the Tempermill to record and learn to use recording equipment. M.R.C.... accepts any type of musical talent ranging from a solo singer to a hardcore 10 man band. Even if you are beginning in music, being a member of the M.R.C.... teach you all you want to know. MRC....meets Fridays after school near the cafeteria.

National Honor Society - Karen Erwin - Membership in the Royal Oak High School chapter of the National Honor Society is an honor conferred by the faculty.  Students who attain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the end of their sophomore or junior year, and meet requirements of service, leadership, scholarship and character are eligible.  As N.H.S. members, students must maintain the high standards of scholarship, service leadership and character within the school and community.  Meetings are held every other week.  The group provides tutoring service through the Homework Place in the Media Center before and after school.

PAWS (Protecting Animals Worldwide) - Mia Gutierrez

Photography Club- will have it's first meeting Thursday, October 6, 2011 after school in Rm. 301.  If you can't make the meeting and you'd like to join, please stop by Rm. 301 to sign-up.

Ping Pong Club - Sean Morgan is the sponsor and the club meets on Thursdays in the cafeteria from 3-5pm

Quiz Bowl - Rick Pfeifle  - Quiz Bowl is all about dedication and competition. We meet every Friday in room 233.

ROHS SKI CLUB - Janet Norling

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) - Kathy Knapp - SADD’s mission is to help teens avoid destructive decisions such as drunk driving, drug abuse, and other decisions that may harm life. SADD conducts many different types of fund raising events. The Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) meet every Thursday in the Media Center from 2:30 - 3.

Students for Environmental Awareness (SEA) - Jolie Booser - SEA members promote environmental and social issues. They run the school recycling program. Regular SEA Club meetings will be on Thursdays after school at 3:00pm in room 306.  We are always looking for new members!  Please come and join us.

ROHS Tutors Club - Mia Gutierrez

Varsity Club - Paul Engelberts - This club meets after school on the 2nd Thursday of each month.  The club activities include getting involved in public service projects.  The club also helps out with Special Olympics and CP Games with qualifying students.

Writer’s Club – Jill Gardy - currently meeting on Tuesdays in the publications lab.
