It is getting close to that time again. At Royal Oak High School the PTSA, Administration and faculty invite deserving 9th, 10th and 11th grade students and their families to a program on April 14, 2010, that honors their academic achievements in four different areas. The first is Academic Excellence, for students that have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the previous two semesters. Next is Honor Roll for students with a 3.0-3.49 during the previous two semesters. Another award is Perfect Attendance, for the student that has had no tardies or absences. For 9th graders only, there is the Citizenship Award. This is given to the freshmen students that have received 1s or 2s in citizenship on their report cards and no grades below a C. Families of deserving students will receive a letter in the mail in March inviting them to the program.
To make this all go smoothly, we need some volunteers to help pass out programs and certificates the night of the program. The shifts are 5:30pm to 6:30pm, 6:30pm to 7:15pm and 7:15pm to 8:00pm. We will also need some volunteers to stuff envelopes and put the certificates together in the weeks before the program. You can contact Penny Barrick at barrinunn@yahoo.com or (248) 554-6881 if you would like to volunteer.
