ROHS Marching Band Students and Parents,

Many people are wondering what happens to the marching band after this week. While football season and our competitive performance season are drawing to a close, we do have a couple more performance obligations later in the year. Our regular Monday through Thursday night rehearsals will end this week. However, we will be meeting to prepare for our other performances. A schedule and explanation is listed below.

REMAINING PRACTICES/PERFORMANCES

October 29, 2007: School/Community/Family/Friends Performance

This is our chance to play the complete show in our home stadium without the football crowd talking through it. This is also a chance for us to do a little recruiting, as the 8th graders will be invited to attend as well. Students are asked to arrive in uniform at 6pm. We will do a final performance of our show at 7:00pm. Please invite family and friends. The night should conclude by 7:30pm.

November 17, 2007: Royal Oak Holiday Magic Parade

We have been asked to participate in the Holiday Parade in downtown Royal Oak. We will need two short rehearsals to work on the music and prepare for this parade. Dress warm! The rehearsals will take place from 6-8pm on November 7th and 14th. Final information about meeting times and places for the morning of November 17th will be handed out at a later time.

May 26, 2008: Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade

We will continue the tradition of leading the way for the RO Memorial Day Parade. We will have three short rehearsals in May to prepare for the parade. Those rehearsals will take place on May 7th, 14th and 21st from 6-8pm. Final information about the meeting times and places for the morning of May 26th will be handed out on May 7th.
