Camp Information

Who: All Marching Band / Color Guard Members

When: Depart 8:00a.m. Monday, August 21st  / Return 10:00p.m. Thursday, August 24th

Cost: $150.00 per member (Checks written to Royal Oak Band and Orchestra Boosters) This includes Transportation, Support Staff, Meals, Lodging, Official T-shirt, MI Adventure Admission)

Due: A $20.00 deposit is due by June 29th.  A permission slip, med form and cost balance are due by the final summer rehearsal. Early payment is greatly appreciated.

Bring: Instrument, Music, Sun Screen, 4 Days of Summer Clothes, Bathing Suit, Rain Gear, Sleeping Bag/Pillow, Toiletries, Flash Light, the usual camp stuff. *Pack light!  We’ll be busy, every day, all day.

Each day at camp will include two full band rehearsals (approx 5 hrs total) and sectional time. Additionally, there will be at least two evening rehearsals.  Recreational activities will include swimming, basketball, softball, etc. Evenings will include campfires and other “camp” type activities.   

Summer Rehearsal Schedule

A series of summer rehearsals will take place prior to camp to assist with marching, music and memorization.  Students should plan to attend 3 of the 4 rehearsals.  Rehearsals are at Keller MSfrom 6:00 to 8:00 p.m on the following dates: Thursday, June 29 / Thursday, July 6 / Thursday, July 27 / Thursday, August 17

Pre/PostCamp Goals

We will be learning an all new Fight Song and Alma Mater.  All show music will be learned, and memorized.  All necessary equipment needs to be obtained including, instrument in top working condition, music folio, lyre, Have all necessary maintenance supplies including reeds, lubricants, swabs, and anything else you need to keep your instrument in top working condition.  We will leave camp prepared for our first show, including pre-game and half time.

Uniforms

Uniforms distribution will be announced as soon as they arrive from the factory.  In the meantime, students will be able to order shoes, gloves, and the official t-shirt at the summer rehearsal dates.
