Royal Oak High School News

The two current high schools - Dondero and Kimball - are scheduled to combine into one campus at 13 Mile and Crooks over the summer of 2006. ROSD is returning to its roots by renaming it Royal Oak High School.

Thank you for your continued support during this important time.

March 2006 - Highlights of recent announcements: numerous changes and additions to the ROHS Music Program. Fall Varsity Coaches have been chosen. The ROHS Athletic Booster Club have started their membership drive. Members of Dondero and Kimball PTSAs will be voting on the slate of officers for the ROHS PTSA on Monday, April 24, 2006. Landscaping projects are in the works for ROHS; donations are being accepted. Student parking at ROHS will be by permit but not with assigned spots. ROSD is cooperating with the City about increased traffic patterns. Officers for the Student Congress have been chosen; there will be two presidents and four general officers. The History and Accomplishments Team have made eight recommendations to the Board of Education regarding how to honor Dondero, Kimball and Royal Oak High School.

    Important Dates:

    • June 6th--8th grade orientation at Kimball campus
    • September 8th--All-School Picnic/Tailgate at ROHS
    • September 25th--Meet the Teacher Night
    • October 6th--Homecoming Football Game
    • October 7th--Homecoming Dance

February 2006 - The student government body at ROHS will be called the Congress.

November 2005 - Thomas Neville, currently Principal of Kimball HIgh School, has been named Principal of Royal Oak High School.

October 2005 - We hope you were able to come and enjoy the Homecoming festivities - from the parade to the final buzzer, it was a day filled with smiles and laughter and the time to reflect on our history. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our final Homecoming celebration held October 14th a wonderful day and night of sharing memories, seeing old friends and enjoying all that has made Dondero and Royal Oak High School such a tremendous place to learn, teach, grow and more. May 2005 - Royal Oak High School’s mascot is the raven and the school colors are blue, silver and black.
